Jevin’s academic career has spanned nutrition science, skeletal muscle health, neurodegenerative disease, and mental health. Throughout these seemingly disparate topics underlies his interest in longevity and healthy aging.
During his undergraduate studies at Knox College, Jevin conducted a study on a nutraceutical formula aimed at preventing cognitive decline in older adults, sparking his interest in nutritional interventions for health and longevity.
In his graduate research at the University of Wisconsin–Madison in the Kuchnia Lab, Jevin focused on using computed tomography scans to improve nutritional assessment of muscle health for clinical use.
Now as a scientist in the lab, Jevin continues to develop methods to interrogate CT and MR imaging markers and their utility in assessing muscle quality in various disease states.
Outside of lab, Jevin enjoys spending time with his wife, daughter, and cats.
